The Khar family has owned and operated house boats in Kashmir for four generations. They are proud of Kashmir and the heritage of both the valley and the mountains. But the Khar family kitchen is equally adept at catering to individual dietary needs of travelers, so excellent vegetarian food, English breakfasts, or other special requests are easily and graciously accommodated. Habib-Ullah Khar is the owner of the Chicago Group of Houseboats, and his son, Ajaz Ahmed Khar manages the day to day operation of the houseboats and travel planning. Even though Habib-Ullah Khar is semi-retired, he is always available, making certain that guests are enjoying their vacation in Kashmir. Mr. Habib-Ullah Khar has wonderful stories to tell about trekking in the Himalaya. Through the years he has escorted well known world leaders on numerous Himalayan adventures. He has a wealth of knowledge that will help any traveler fully experience the wonders of this paradise on earth. Both Mr. Khar, and his son Ajaz, have extensive experience arranging and conducting camping trips, trekking, fishing, boat trips, and excursions throughout the valley and the mountains, and to neighboring Ladakh. |
